Born in central Canada, Kyle moved to the U.S. as a teenager and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. After graduating from WWU with Kulshan CPAs Co-Founder Zach, Kyle built his knowledge of international tax through nearly eight years at two regional accounting firms. In 2015, Kyle drew on his experience and background as a dual U.S. and Canadian citizen to form Lodder CPA, an international tax specialty firm. Kyle and his team have managed U.S. tax implications for clients in Afghanistan, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Kyle lives in Everson and enjoys Pacific Northwest life with his wife and five kids. He’s active in the community by serving as Treasurer of a local school and a church volunteer. Born in Port Angeles, Washington and raised in Port Townsend, Zach moved to Whatcom County two weeks after 9/11 to attend Western Washington University. After graduating from WWU with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting in 2006, he earned his CPA certification and began his career in the Bellingham office of a large regional accounting firm. Two years later, Zach later joined a fast-growing regional accounting firm in their Bellingham office. He was a key team member in the firm’s domestic tax practice as they more than doubled in size over his 11 years on staff. In 2020, Zach joined Kyle Lodder, his former WWU classmate and previous colleague at two accounting firms, to launch Kulshan CPAs. As a longtime Ferndale resident, Zach is passionate about being involved in the local community. He serves as the Board Treasurer for Bellingham City Club and previously served a six-year volunteer term as the Treasurer for his church in Bellingham. Together with his wife and son, he loves exploring Washington’s lakes, rivers, and hiking trails—and supporting the Whatcom breweries that craft our nation’s best beer.
